Balboa on a Sunday Afternoon: Now Times Edition
IMPORTANT: for the safety of all members of our community, Boston Balboa will require well-fitting masks (N95/KN95/KF94) covering the nose and mouth at all times while indoors. If you don’t have a suitable mask, we’ve got one for you at the door!
We will continue to review the latest COVID-19 guidance, and will adjust as the need arises, keeping in mind that we will be always placing the safety of the community first and thus will always take the most conservative approach.

About BoaSA:NTE
Balboa on a Sunday Afternoon is exactly what it says it is — an opportunity to dance Balboa on a Sunday afternoon. All levels are welcome, from complete newbie to seasoned master.
As we are still existing within the global-pandemic, we will continue to run Balboa on a Sunday Afternoon, for the now times.
Open practice is largely unstructured. Have something in particular that you’d like to work on? Let us know! Have something interesting you’ve learned recently or been playing with? Come and share! We’ll play music, and instructors will be available to facilitate.
During class and practice, social distancing is not possible, and we have sustained, physical proximity and contact with multiple people. Masks continue to be one of the single most effective means of preventing transmission. For the safety of our entire community, we will be enforcing a mask requirement while indoors for class, during practice, and socializing.
For everyone’s safety, we are maintaining the following policies:
- Suitable mask (N95/KN95/KF94) covering nose & mouth required at all times
(we will have suitable masks available free at the door if you need one)
When: one opportunistically-selected Sunday afternoon (monthly), specific times and dates TBA
Where: Salsa y Control (Allston) or The Dance Complex (Cambridge)
What: Balboa practice
Cost: Pay what you can (Suggested payment varies month-to-month, but typically around $10-15)
Safety: masks (N95/KN95/KF94) required (masks will be available at the door)
Note for Entering the Dance Complex: The Dance Complex now requires all participants entering the building to have a MindBody account with a signed liability waiver. If you haven’t done so already, please create a MindBody account to facilitate your entry into the building. If you have an account, make sure to bring your swipe card with you.
