Hey y’all… by popular demand we’ll be doing a lot more teaching in Boston this year, with a particular focus on Bal fundamentals. We want YOU to come dance Balboa with us!
First up is a 4-week Balboa fundamentals series on Thursdays starting March 20 at Crosby Whistle Stop. We’ll get through all the basic figures and connection techniques of Balboa, and have you dancing socially after the first class. Join us 8:00-9:00pm on Thursdays – March 20, March 27, April 3, and April 10! $40 pre-registration ($35 students) / $50 at the door ($45 students)… register here soon!
We’re also offering similar material in a crash course format on Saturday, April 12, from 1-5pm. This is a perfect refresher for those of you who’ve forgotten half the Bal you know, or for valiant souls who can handle a firehose of Balboa knowledge in one afternoon. $40 walk-in / $30 if you register by March 28… register here soon!
And looking ahead to May and June, we’re cooking up some different approaches to Balboa fundamentals, so stay tuned for more information!

January isn’t even over yet, but it’s already time to start thinking about All Balboa Weekend!
The event may happen June (specifically, June 12-15, 2014 in Independence, OH (near Cleveland) but registration opens on February 8th and they’re offering group discounts again — groups of 8 (from the same scene) get a free admission with 7 paid registrations — the caveat being that you have to submit the names before people register.
Boston, let’s do this thing! (and by Boston, I mean New England — RI, CT, NH, ME — all of you!)

Did you go to the Balboa social on the last night of TinkerBal? Did you go to the Balboa Speakeasy at Precinct a few weeks ago? If not, then my friend, you are missing out!
A good time was had by all in the back room of Precinct, having tasty snacks, getting their drink on, and dancing Balboa to the sweet DJ tunes from Nelle Cherry. The spinach salad has pork belly in it, yum! The mac and cheese is awesome… and we all had a great time dancing! Come on out and play with us next time… maybe in January?
