Balboa Speakeasy
Sorry, Balboa Speakeasy remains on-hold for the foreseeable future.
The Balboa Speakeasy is a casual gathering at a bar for food, drink, and social Balboa dancing. It’s a blast, and a great way to get to know other dancers. We’ll provide the tunes, you provide the company and the dancing!
For the foreseeable future, we’ll be running it on first Sundays (usually) at Brass Union immediately following the Balboa on a Sunday Afternoon practice session. We’ll post updates as they happen!
We plan to run other Speakeasies when we can find time or at the end of workshop weekends, so check back often to see when the next one is happening! We’ll be sure to put an announcement here as well as via Facebook (also, Facebook), Twitter and Google+.
The dance is free; food and drink are pay as you go. See you there!
Origin Story:
We had so much fun at our Sunday evening Balboa social the last night of the first TinkerBal weekend in 2012, we wanted to do it again whenever possible! One of the attendees said that it felt like a speakeasy, so we’ve stolen the name and made it official.
Tentative Future Dates
